Tacory Robinson, Sun Valley
Key stat: Robinson ran for 992 yards as a sophomore, but injuries and scheme limited him to 250 last season. He’s healthy and ready for a big year.
Andrew Stark: You’re a three-year starter now coming into your senior season on a team that’s won a school-record 21 games over the past two seasons. With guys looking at you for leadership, does your role change at all?
Tacory Robinson: Not really. I’m just trying to get back into rhythm, but I’m excited to have this O-line with Michael (Gonzalez) and Mason (Thompson) blocking for me. I can’t go there without them.
AS: From a state-wide perspective, Sun Valley is probably more talked about for who it lost (all-American quarterback Sam Howell) as much if not more than who is returning. There is a lot of talent still here, so what’s it going to take to put it all together?
TR: We have a special bond. Just because we lost one dude doesn’t mean we’re going to fall out. We’re going to prove them all wrong.
AS: You guys are loaded offensively with a good line blocking for you. What do you need to do to make this a successful season?
TR: We take ourselves out of the game when we’re down, so we need to stay mentally focused this year and stay up.
