Best Community Theater: Union County Playmakers
The Union County Playmakers have worked to engage the arts community and entertain audiences since forming in 2013. The organization brought productions, such as “Foxfire,” “Willy Wonka Jr.” and “Mothers and Sons” to Monroe Crossing Mall in 2019.

Best Live Music Venue: The Trail House
The Trail House welcomes local and regional musical acts Fridays and Saturdays to its stage or patio. Upcoming performances include Jettison Five and Wreckless (June 28), Static Pool (June 29), PiGs (July 5) and Groove Machine (July 6). Decarlo, Delta Fire, Hipshack and Jade Moore and have also performed.

Best Local Museum: Museum of the Waxhaws
The Museum of the Waxhaws brings history to life with permanent exhibits, such as the Secrest Homestead, Heritage Garden and Nesbit Smokehouse, as well as events like Pirate Day (Aug. 24), Haunted Walking Tour (Oct. 26), Gettysburg Address (Nov. 9) and Colonial Tavern Night (Nov. 16).

Best Art Gallery: 47K Marketplace
Matt and Kay Klaren opened 47K Marketplace in 2017. While not a traditional art gallery, the boutique displays the work of dozens of artisans, Becky Torres Quill Art, Kitty Hardee Fine Art, Rewined Candles, Solmate Socks and Toss N Turn Pottery.

Best Historical Site: Union County Courthouse
The Union County Historic Courthouse dates back to 1886. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. County commissioners designed the courthouse as a museum in 2015 due to the artifacts kept inside the Union County Heritage Room.
