MONROE – The Monroe Police Department continues to conduct interviews with potential witnesses as they piece together the circumstances behind the death of 13-year-old Carlos Rodriguez.
Police were called out at 8 p.m. March 5 near the 1400 block of Walkup Avenue. They found his body on the railroad tracks. They learned he was struck by a train, but not at a specific train crossing.
Carlos was a student at Monroe Middle School who reportedly left his home at 5:40 p.m. He was later reported missing
“This is a very sad situation,” Monroe Police Chief Bryan Gilliard said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family, friends and classmates during this very difficult time.”
