Coach: Thomas Langley, seventh season (39-21)
2017 Record: 8-3, 4-0 in conference play
Returning Starters: Offense, 5; Defense, 8
The Warriors have made an impressive run of late, including eight wins a year ago. They again look explosive on offense with a couple of new weapons and have a stout defense that may be their best ever.
Quarterbacks Myles Saxton and Angel Gonzalez combined for 1,800 yards and 27 touchdowns last year. Gonzalez went 4-1 in relief, but Saxton is a dynamic dual-threat option.
Sun Valley transfer Jack Crump is the big back, with Jadus Davis and Carson Carpenter competing for touches
Ben Titherington and Jett Townson will start at receiver.
Davis, a Forest Hills transfer and star sprinter, will play the slot and try to get into open space.
At tight end, Indiana Moen and Josh Threatt will split reps.
Second-team all-state pick Walker Leslie and Cam Robinson return as starters. The newcomers are Ben Carr, Andy Thompson, Smith Haigler, CJ Parker and Andrew Threatt.
Defensive line is expected to be the Warriors best overall group with Andrew Threatt and Parker at the ends. Haigler and Robinson will split reps at one tackle spot with Thompson manning the other.
Linebacker is a deep and talented group. Moen starts in the middle with three-year starter and two-time state wrestling champ Jacob Hattaway at one of the outside linebacker spots. Colton Fitch and Carson Carpenter will battle for the other.
Both safeties return in Dylan Quick and Colby Girard. Luke Roffler, Davis, AJ Hoyle and Connor Moreno will form a rotation at corner.
Rising freshman Bryce McFerson will handle the kicking duties. Davis and Girard will handle kickoffs.
