INDIAN TRAIL – The intersection of U.S. 74 and Unionville-Indian Trail Road will have a temporary traffic pattern Sunday night, Jan. 6, weather permitting.
Road crews will close the left turn lanes from U.S. 74 East to Unionville-Indian Trail Road. To access the side road, drivers will go through the intersection and continue east on U.S. 74 about a quarter-mile to make a U-turn, proceeding in the opposite direction to reach Unionville-Indian Trail Road.
N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews are working on a $9.5 million project to convert four full-movement intersections along U.S. 74 into superstreets. The NCDOT says the design improves safety and decreases travel time.
