WEDDINGTON – The Western Union County Leadership Forum will focus on transportation at its next meeting.
The event starts at 9 a.m. May 19 at Weddington High School. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the speakers and ask questions.
Speakers include Warren Cooksey, of the N.C. Department of Transportation; Bjorn Hansen, Union County transportation planner; Waxhaw Mayor Steve Maher; and N.C. Rep. Craig Horn.
The forum provides residents in western Union County the opportunity to address common needs and increase public engagement in municipal, county and state issues. It’s a collaboration between Horn and business leader David Willis.
“Western Union County has seen tremendous population growth over the last two decades and will continue to grow,” Willis said. “Addressing road congestion and public safety is one of our top priorities.”
