CHARLOTTE – Carol Eason, of Indian Trail, was among three lupus advocates to receive awards from the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter on Oct. 21 in Charlotte.
Eason won the Mission Award, given to an individual for efforts and continued support of LFANC’s mission.
Eason became active in the foundation three years ago. She began by volunteering a couple times a month, which turned into a recurring once a week and now is that extra set of hands on the busiest days of the organization’s walk season and programming.
She volunteers at outreach events to raise awareness. She most recently raised more than $5,000 for her walk team.
