Seminar to help local veterans

MONROE – A number of state veterans groups will come together later this month for a veterans’ benefits seminar.

The event, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Army National Guard Armory, 700 Charles St., will allow former and current military members and their families to ask questions or get assistance with Veterans Affairs benefits. Those needing to enroll for health-care benefits or who need to file a claim need to bring copies of their DD Form 214, Certificate of Release of Discharge from Active Duty.
