Marvin gets ready for a night out

MARVIN – People are invited to learn more about ways to stay safe next month at Marvin’s National Night Out event.

The evening, Aug. 7, will include outdoor light displays, front-porch vigils, block party cookouts, parades, police and sheriff visits and more throughout the town. People can sign up to take part by calling the town’s office at 704-843-1680.

Deputy Swan will visit each of the town’s block parties and cookouts during the evening to talk about safety topics and give people a chance to meet him. Town council members also will make the rounds through different neighborhoods.

People also can call the town office to learn more about hosting a National Night Out event.
