INDIAN TRAIL – John Michael Milton, of Indian Trail, recently earned his Eagle award for designing a community enhancement program for students at Reformed Technology Seminary.
Milton, who is part of of Troop 413, completed his project last fall, which focused on designing and creating a project management plan to enhance student community life at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. He led a team of volunteers in building circular benches around two great maple trees on the campus green and designed and led a team to install a landscaping feature on campus.
In addition to his Eagle award, he also is set to receive the James M. “Jimmy” Stewart Award for Good Citizenship, in honor of the famous actor, WWII hero and life-long scouting advocate.
Indian Trail Mayor Michael Alvarez will make the presentation of that award at a regular meeting of the city council.
Milton has been accepted into Grove City College, Grove City, Pa. He also plans to remain active as an adult Boy Scouts of America leader and in the Sons of the American Legion while at Grove City College.
