INDIAN TRAIL — The campaign Cuddles From Kids, For Kids is coming to the Brookhaven community. This all-volunteer campaign has a goal to collect new and gently-used stuffed animals to send to children around the world with the help of the U.S. Navy. New and gently-used stuffed animals will be collected Saturday, May 12 and May 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brookhaven Community Clubhouse, 3001 Stanbury Drive. Volunteers will also pack the stuffed animals on May 19 to send to The Loving Hugs organization in Colorado where the stuffed animals will be sanitized and dry-cleaned so they can be given to children in hospitals from members of the U.S. Navy.
Monetary donations also will be collected to help with the shipping costs. One dollar per animal is suggested. Boxes to pack the collected animals and money to offset the cost of shipping also will be accepted.
