Union County’s Emergency Management department will offer weather spotting classes in March. Weather spotters report changing conditions to the National Weather Service office in Greenville, South Carolina.
Union County will offer basic and advanced classes starting March 8 at the Government Center in Monroe. The basic class runs from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by the advanced class from 9 to 10 p.m.
Classes on March 8 will cover the basics of thunderstorm development; fundamentals of storm structure; identifying potential severe weather features; information to report; how to report information and basic severe weather safety.
