The Turning Point shelter will hold its annual “Roast” March 15, this time focusing on Angela Thomas Bower. Each year the shelter celebrates the life of an individual who has sacrificed to build Union County’s civic and business environment. Bower has served on the Union County United Way Board of Directors, Turning Point’s Board of Directors, the Union County Community Foundation, the Monroe Rotary Club, Foundation of the Carolinas and the United Way of Central Carolinas Governing Board. Last year’s event brought in 300 people and raised $60,000 for the care of abused women and children in Union County.
The 2012 Roast will be at Rolling Hills Country Club, Thursday, March 15. Social hour begins at 6 pm and the event starts at 7 pm. For more information or to attend, please contact Becky Tracy at Turning Point, 704-288-1811 or email@example.com. Tickets are $125 per person and include dinner. Reservations for the formal event are necessary. A raffle will include several elegant prizes.
