The Union County Board of Education wants residents to tell them what to look for in a new superintendent. In January, Dr. Ed Davis announced his retirement, effective at the end of the school year. The school district created a community survey to collect information to define the qualities and characteristics required for the next school district superintendent. Residents can either pick up a copy at the Central Services building, 400 North Church St. in Monroe or visit the school board website at www.ucps.k12.nc.us under the “What’s New” tab. Survey responses must be submitted by February 28, 2012.
