Twelve-year-old Kelli Fagala and her 11-year-old sister Micah, want to kick off Super Bowl weekend in a new way, by collecting food for the hungry.
The sisters will hold a donation drive at the Union Square Harris Teeter, 1817 Dickerson Blvd in Monroe , from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4.
“The sisters coordinated every aspect of the food drive and also established a partnership with the non-profit Move for Hunger,” Danna Jones, communication specialist for Harris Teeter, said in a press release. “We are thrilled these two young ladies recognized Harris Teeter by inviting both our store and our generous shoppers to be a part of their worthy cause.”
Food collected during the drive will go to benefit the Union County Community Shelter, Benton Heights Presbyterian Pantry, Lee Park Baptist Church Pantry and Hopewell Baptist Church Pantry.
