Residents can start filing for several county and state offices February 13. The filing period for North Carolina House and Senate seats, as well as the two open county commission seats and the register of deeds office, will open at noon on Feb. 13 and end at noon on Feb. 29.
Filing starts for other positions in June, including the open Board of Education and Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor spots. Interested candidates can file for the Soil and Water position starting at noon on June 11 and ending July 6, while Board of Education candidates can file starting at noon on June 29 and ending July 27.
Filing occurs at the Board of Elections office, 316 East Windsor Street in Monroe. All fees must be paid by check.
