The Enrichment Arts Program for Acting and Scene Study will start Jan. 23 at Central Academy of Technology and Arts, 600 Brewer Drive, Monroe.
The program is a joint effort between Union County Public Schools, the Community Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council.
Acting coach and director Linda Ann Watt will teach the class, which will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m for 12 sessions open to students 11 to 17 years old.
Classes will include learning the art of relaxation, sense memory exercises, voice, improvisation and in-depth scene study. They also will include the study of the audition process and the business end of acting. There will be a final showcase for parents at the end of the sessions.
The cost for the 12 sessions is $200, or $16.67 per class. Scholarships are available with proof of financial need. For more information call 704-849-2025.
