The North Carolina Turnpike Authority opened a right-of-way office for its Monroe Bypass project. The office, 5419 Indian Trail-Fairview Road, is responsible for addressing any questions residents might have about the Bypass route. Currently, the Turnpike Authority is identifying properties it will need to purchase for right-of-way before construction can start on the Bypass. The state hired firms to help with right-of-way way issues, including planning and assistance for moving businesses and homes, title work, appraisals and negotiations with property owners. The state estimates the process to take a year.
The office is open from 8 a.m to 5 p.m on weekdays.
