Union County school board member David Scholl will run next year to become North Carolina’s next Superintendent of Public Instruction.
“We cannot continue to accept the fact that the education our children receive here in North Carolina and across our great nation continues to fall in the global rankings,” Scholl said in a news release Wednesday, Dec. 7. “To get our schools back on the right track we must return more control over our schools to our local school systems.”
Scholl works in advertising and training businesses to use technology to streamline their processes. He’s served on the Union County Board of Education since 2008, currently as co-chair of the Technology and Strategic Planning Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee.
