For a school not even two years old, Cuthbertson High keeps pulling in awards. Principal Rob Jackson was honored Wednesday, May 4 as the North Carolina Principal of the Year. Jackson was one of eight finalists for the award, which brings a $3,000 grant for the school, a $3,000 personal check for Jackson and a 10 day trip to China. As a regional finalist, Jackson also received an additional $1,000 grant for the school and an additional $1,000 personal check.
“Rob understands the importance of graduating students career and college ready in a global economy,” State Board of Education Chairman Bill Harrison said in a press release. “Through Cuthbertson High’s rigorous academics and interactive technology, he works to empower students to be leaders and conduits to change in a global community.”
Jackson was also named to the State Superintendent’s Principals Advisory Committee and will serve as an advisor to the State Board of Education.
