MATTHEWS – As part of National Stroke Awareness Month, Presbyterian Neuroscience Institute and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews are co-sponsoring the StrokeSmart event Tuesday, May 24, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Levine Senior Center, 1050 DeVore Lane.
The free luncheon and seminar will feature stroke experts, including Dr. Jodi Dodds, vascular neurologist at Presbyterian Neurology Center, and Dr. Aris Chaconas, director of the neuroscience institute, who will discuss everything you need to know about strokes, including warning signs and symptoms to detection and recovery.
Before and after the luncheon, medical personnel will staff a health fair with free information and screenings. The first 125 people to register get a free boxed lunch. Space is limited, and registration is required.
