Wingate University’s School of Pharmacy was selected April 27 as one of 25 groups taking part in Project Impact: Diabetes. The project is a national initiative to help improve care for diabetes patients. The school will work with local groups such as doctor’s offices and pharmacies to help improve the health of people living with diabetes in Union County. The students will offer care to underserved patients in the area, as well as those treated at independent pharmacies across the county. The three year project hopes to integrate pharmacists into diabetes care.
