Waxhaw used to be a great place. We elected Mayor Gardner, hoping to make it even better. That was pointless. Then we elected Commissioners Kirkpatrick and Diller, hoping they would help Waxhaw be the best it can be. Huge, huge mistake.
We now have two commissioners and one mayor who are in this only for themselves. Kirkpatrick, who was the subject of ethical questions; Diller, who would be afraid to oppose Kirkpatrick in any way; and our mayor, who accomplishes nothing for our town. These three are embarrassments to our town. They lack any perception of what Waxhaw residents want and need. They lack a willingness to work with others, making this all about them.
Now these three have decided to leave the open commissioner seat unfilled so they can vote together continually and make Waxhaw all about them. These are three who don’t care about Waxhaw. I wonder if Commissioner Kirkpatrick will now get the town to buy her friend’s property for that library. I wonder if they will fire all the people who work for the town whom they don’t agree with. They should be forced to step down. Yet, they are now the majority vote in Waxhaw.
Hold on everyone. We’re in for a bumpy 10 months until the election.
