The town of Waxhaw will hold a free historic walking tour Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. as part of its Twelve Days of Christmas celebration.
Melvin Faris and Commissioner Joyce Blythe will take walkers on a tour of the area, starting at Waxhaw United Methodist Church. The tour will take about an hour, stops at the Lutheran church on West South Main Street for hot chocolate and snacks and ends at the live nativity scene at Waxhaw United Methodist.
The tour group also will learn about what Christmas was like at the turn of the century in Waxhaw and also a little about Christmas in the 1950s. For more information, call 704-843-2246.
