This is to the Town Council of Marvin. You wanted us, and soon you will have us. I sat through the meeting about you forcing us into your warm, loving township. I saw the smug looks on your faces as you listened to what the people you’re forcing into your town had to say, knowing you have already made up your minds.
You were just holding the meetings so your decision would stand up in court. Then – Bam! – the hammer went down, and the council voted – not the people, as usual. OK, we are in. Don’t get too comfortable in your seats, though, because things will change.
First, we will take your seats. It is time for the people to finally be heard, time for the people to vote on things. Over a million for land for a park that isn’t even in your town. Spending over a million on anything when so many are hurting and out of work: Is that what the people really want?
Watch out, Walden Ponds. You’re next on their list to be forced in. You better hope we can get in there and vote Dispenziere, Burman, Patton and Salimao out before they get you.
Are you listening now, Marvin? Keep my seat warm for me, OK? Because I will run for one of them.
