A ruling on the requested injunction against the Monroe Bypass could come as soon as Dec. 17. A Raleigh judge heard testimony Thursday, Dec. 16 from both sides, as the Southern Environmental Law Center attempts to get progress on the project halted. The SELC alleges that the North Carolina Department of Transportation violated federal environmental law in analyzing the impact the Bypass would have on the area.
