Boy Scouts keep pantry shelves stocked
INDIAN TRAIL – Common Heart received 10,985 pounds of food collected during a recent Boy Scout food drive – enough to feed about 315 families for a week.
Lake Park’s Boy Scout Troop and Cub Pack 151, Indian Trail’s Troop and Cub Pack 276 and Troop 97 and Wesley Chapel’s Troop 46 collected food through the Scouting for Food project. Scouts also collected about $250 in cash donations for the nonprofit.
Common Heart is seeking other groups to host food drives this spring to keep shelves stocked during the slow summer months. Email Kara.Lopp@CommonHeart.org or call 704-218-9060.
