NDIAN TRAIL – The IT’s Elementary student art show opened March 1 to rave reviews at Indian Trail Town Hall.
The exhibit includes drawings, paintings and sculptures from students at nine schools: Hemby Bridge, Indian Trail, Poplin, Porter Ridge, Sardis, Shiloh and Stallings Elementary schools, as well as Metrolina Christian and Union Preparatory academies.
The Indian Trail Parks & Recreation Department works with schools and art instructors to shine a light on the area’s future artists and allow students to see their work in a true showcase.
“It is our great honor to be able to play host to such a wonderful display of creativity and imagination,” said Mike Parks, the town’s communications director. “It’s a joy to work with so many great student artists, and so many wonderful, passionate art teachers from across Indian Trail.”
The exhibit is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through March 9 in the cultural arts room within town hall, located at 315 Matthews-Indian Trail Road. Visit www.indiantrail.org for details.
