WINGATE – British-born clarinetist Julian Bliss brings the King of Swing’s music to life in a performance, dubbed “A Tribute to Benny Goodman: The Julian Bliss Septet.”
Drawing inspiration from the Swing Era, Bliss and his band add a modern twist as they delve into the music of Goodman, Hoagy Carmichael, Louis Prima, Euby Blake, George and Ira Gershwin.
Bliss has appeared with orchestras ranging from the Sao Paolo Symphony to the London Philharmonic, as well as venues such as Gstaad, Wigmore Hall and Lincoln Center.
The show starts at 3 p.m. Feb. 25 at The Batte Center at Wingate University.
Tickets cost $25 for adults and $15 for students (7 to 17 years old).
